• First names terms with the hospital !!

    Morning All,

Firstly I must apologise for the lack of blog posts recently, I have been trying to juggle everything, including Tonsilitus, failing miserably. As if the guilt of being a parent isn't enough, I am now facing the guilt of being a blogger!

The children are back at pre-school next week and I promise to get myself in some order to get back to my daily posts for you.

So, just a little update on my week for now, after having never been to our local hospital before, I have been twice this week !! Firstly for my Pencillin allergy which I have bored you all with enough, and then, on Wednesday, I got the dreaded phone call from the creche our children were at, that our 2yo son had pulled most of his thumb nail off.

They called when i was 40 minutes away from him to tell me, but reassured me it was fine and that i needn't rush to pick him up any earlier than usual. I however took no notice of this advice, cried all of the way there and went straight in to see him ! He was really upset when I got there and clung onto me and the nursery manager suggested he goes to A&E. So, off we went 'again' to the hospital.

After waiting for over an hour to be seen we finally went in to see the doctor who thought at first looking at it that it was so bruised, he may have broken something so needed it x-raying.

It was so hard to see him in so much pain and having to hold his hand down for the x-ray. I wanted to cry myself and he was just looking at me as if to say 'Mummy, you should be looking after me not holding it down like that!'. It was awful, I was actually shaking. Then when we went back through to the doctor and were awaiting the results, the doctor wanted him to have some calpol and ibrufofen. Ollie was in such a state that he didn't want them to syringe it into his mouth but the doctor had to do it anyway. Again, it was terrible.

Anyway, the results show that it wasn't broken afterall and he just has quite a big bandage on it now.

He has been so brave and not whinged about it at all. Have any of you experienced anything like this before. I know it's probably happening all of the time but I really struggled with it.

    Have a great weekend everyone.

Lots of Love, Your (very proud) Blogger x
